Friends constantly tell me that their biggest in-law issue is their husbands. When a man has to choose between his mother and his wife, he is put into a very difficult and challenging position. Chances are he will initially try to make his mother happy. The guilt and the pressure that a mother can place on a son is unbearable! It is our job as wife to make our husbands understand that we come before his mom but that we will try our hardest to make sure that many of her needs are met (within reason).
